A Journey to Enjoy a South Haven and Lake Michigan Spring

You are planning your vacation to enjoy spring in Michigan and you are looking for a place that has many outdoor activities, lots of family fun, and food that makes you want to cheat on your diet. Spring in South Haven, Michigan offers wonderful festivals, spring skiing, and wine. There are so many things to do that you will want to make a schedule, lest you miss making those important memories.

The Lake and Trails

The wind is just right for sailing during a Lake Michigan spring, and you will see lots of boats on the water when you visit the beach. If you are traveling with a furry friend, you will be happy to know that most beaches allow dogs during seasons other than summer. There are a lot of walking trails around the lake where you can watch the leaves budding and smell the blooming fennel.

Festivals

In the spring, a Michiganite’s fancies turn to wine, and Fenn Vineyards in South Haven introduces its new labels to the public in mid-April. They have several wine tastings as well as a Winemaker’s Dinner. The dinner is quite elegant, and the menu is designed to pair with the vino. Harborfest and Mermaid Megafest also happen in late spring. Harborfest includes a parade, boat races, and lots of fantastic food. Mermaid Megafest is a two-day festival dedicated to mermaids and mermen who want to save the waters.

Skiing

Spring is a great time to go skiing in Michigan and, if you stay in South Haven, you will be near several fabulous resorts, including Timber Ridge and Bittersweet. If you stay in South Haven, you will have a variety of restaurants and shops to choose from and you won’t have to pay those exorbitantly high resort prices for a place to stay.

Dining
