Our Favorite New Flavors in South Haven

South Haven is a whirlwind of activity, so you might get so caught up in planning your fun itinerary that you forget to plan moments to eat in-between visits to the beach and trips to the Center Street Emporium! Never fear. We love South Haven food here at Beachwalk Properties, and we’re always looking for fresh new finds. Check out our recent favorites:

Salo’s Calamari at Tello Italian Bistro

This bistro is one of our favorite places to eat here in South Haven. This calamari dish comes quick seared naked with lemon, parsley, garlic, white wine, and grilled bread. If you have a sweet tooth, try the Tiramisu (espresso and brandy-soaked lady fingers with light and luscious mascarpone cream), or maybe the Nutella Pizza Dulce (toasted marshmallow and cookie crunch). Tello even has gluten-free pasta available, which is good to keep in mind if you need that option!

Country Fried Steak Platter at Big Boy

This restaurant has the classic American diner atmosphere that we love and cherish. This particular dish is new, comprised of tender ground beef breaded, deep-fried, and topped with their signature sausage gravy. It comes served with fries, Texas toast, and coleslaw as well. While you’re here make sure to try one of their delicious iced tea and lemonade flavors, like Mango, Blueberry, or Desert Pear, and grab a good old-fashioned mug root beer for dessert.

Thai Chicken Linguine at Clementine’s

Clementine’s is one of the staple restaurants here in town. Us locals all love it, and you will too! This dish is a current favorite of ours and comes with stir-fried chicken with pea pods, green onions, roasted peppers, zucchini, and peanuts, all tossed up to perfection with peanut sauce over noodles. Even the mere thought of it is mouth-watering! Grab a McIntosh Hard Cider while you’re here, or maybe one of the dessert drinks, like the Polar Bear, which is made with Kahlua, vodka, and a chocolate swirl. The children’s menu is great here as well, and it is very family-friendly, so this restaurant is a good choice if you’re looking for somewhere to bring the family on your first night in town.
