So, you want to take advantage of Labor Day Weekend by taking a vacation to South Haven? What an amazing idea! The weather here is amazing this time of year, and there is so much you can do in three days’ time. Here are a few ideas to help you fill out your itinerary for Labor Day in South Haven:

Saturday

Start out your vacation with a lovely excursion onto Kal Haven Trail. You can go biking along the entire trail if you want, or else just take a lovely walk on a smaller piece of it. Either way, the lush green landscape and glassy water will leave you breathless. Van Buren State Park is another great place to hit on your first day because you’ll want to spend a long time there. This state park is 400 acres of pure beauty along the shoreline of Lake Michigan. If you stop and grab food on the way, you can watch the sun setting over the water from a comfy place along the beach!

Sunday

It’s right in the area of Center Street Emporium, which is a great place to pick up souvenirs after breakfast. An awesome way to spend the afternoon on Sunday is to visit Cogdal Vineyards. The tasting room is open 12:00pm – 5:00pm and offers a wide selection of signature wines that you won’t find anywhere else. Check out 5 Mile Drive-In Theatre in the evening for a retro movie viewing experience that the family will adore.

Monday

After that, spend the day exploring South Haven Center for the Arts. This non-profit art center is the best way to get acquainted with the rich South Haven art scene. Make sure to check the calendar for upcoming events, exhibitions, and classes! In the evening, book a ride with Sailing South Haven to enjoy your last sunset out on the water. Treat yourself to some delicious local craft beer on your last night in town by heading over to Harbor Light Brewery, or Three Blondes Brewing.
